KLANG collective
KLANG collective is the Flemish duo of soprano Annelies Van Gramberen and guitarist Sim Van Thienen. With D O W L N D R A K E, they bring together the English renaissance music of John Dowland and the 70s folk of Nick Drake.
The result is an intimate and compelling soundscape with voice, guitars, loops, electronics and a strong historical sensitivity. The project has previously been performed at MAfestival, O. Festival Rotterdam, Walden Festival, Gent Festival and TRAUM in Antwerp.
In 2026, it will be 400 years since John Dowland passed away. KLANG collective does not present his music as a museum piece, but as a living source of inspiration in dialogue with another era.
